SHOOTING RULES
Safety glasses and Hearing protection are required. All loading will be done at the benches behind the firing line. Sporting black powder or Pyrodex only. No smoking or alcohol will be permitted near the firing line. No open powder containers. Loading is to be done from a powder measure only, not from a flask or a can. Offhand is defined as standing on both feet with no other portion of the body touching any supporting surface. The rifle will only be supported by both hands and one shoulder. The rifle must lay in the palm of the hand. Handgun matches are to be shot with the gun supported by one hand only. Bench Rest is defined as any type of rest employing muzzle and elbow support. (Bench rest, Cross sticks, Over the log, Prone, Kneeling, Sitting, etc.) Flintlocks and Muskets (with round ball only) are permitted in the Offhand matches. Revolvers and single shot handguns are permitted in handgun matches. All relays will be 30 minutes. Once a record target is fired upon for record, it must be completed in that relay, except bench matches, which are allowed 2 consecutive relays. If you are unable to complete your shots due to mechanical problems, notify a Range Officer – THEIR DECISION IS FINAL. Targets must remain unaltered, i.e., no spotters. Turn in all targets to scorekeepers in the stat house on the day fired. If not shot on the day purchased, all targets must be initialed by a Range Officer before they may be posted. No exceptions. Decisions of the Shoot Committee are final.
